Check Your Maintenance and Load

Address warning lights or visible leaks before a road trip rather than assuming they can wait.

If you're towing, check the trailer tires, lights, and connections as part of your pre-trip walkaround.

Keep a Few Basics Within Reach

A charged phone, flashlight, water, and a light jacket can come in handy if a drive takes longer than expected. Know where your spare tire or tire repair kit is located and how to use it. When rain or fog rolls in, slow down and give the vehicle ahead more room.
