Model Overview
The Chevrolet Equinox is an impressive contender in the compact crossover/SUV segment. It exists on a shared platform with the GMC Terrain and Buick Envision.

The Equinox has one engine, a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes an impressive 175 horsepower and 203 lb. ft. the front-wheel drive is mated to a CVT transmission while the all-wheel drive is mated to an 8-speed transmission.

Storage areas are abundant and include an oversized glovebox, a closed storage bin in the instrument panel above the center stack and a closed storage bin under the center armrest that is large enough for a laptop computer.

Standard equipment on all trims includes 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, Stabilitrak stability control, traction control, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, 6 air bags, an anti-theft system, an XM satellite radio-ready system, automatic LED headlights, Bluetooth and OnStar with 4G LTE, an 11.3-inch touchscreen, 4 USB ports, and Wi-Fi hotspot readiness. Power windows, door locks, remote keyless entry, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, a remote starter system, as well as heated power mirrors and automatic headlamps round out the generous standards list.

The ACTIV trim features a power liftgate, roof rails, simulated suede upholstery, driver seat memory, dual-zone climate control, proximity key, garage door transmitter, and wireless device charging.

The RS adds black exterior accents, 19-inch wheels, leatherette seats, and a sport steering wheel.

Standard safety features across the lineup include rear parking sensors, active lane departure, active blind spot, forward and rear collision mitigation, front and rear pedestrian detection, and front cross traffic mitigation.
